Dionysis Cabolis was born in Athens,
Greece. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Art from the
University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 1991.
He continued his studies with a scholarship from the
“ALEXANDER S. ONASSIS” Foundation, completing the three
years Master program at UCLA with a Master of Fine Arts
in Art in 1994. Professors Barbara Drucker, Henry Hopkins,
Paul McCarthy and Lari Pittman participated in his thesis
committee. In 1991-1992 he was a Teaching Assistant
at the Department of Printmaking at UCLA while from
1992 to 1994 he was a Teaching Assistant at the Department
of Painting at UCLA. From 1997 to 1998 he was a Professor
of Art and the Director of the Fine Arts Department
at the Southeastern University in Athens, Greece. From
2003 to 2008 he was a Professor of Art in AKTO College
of Art and Design, and since 2005 he has been an Art
Professor at the Contemporary School S. Avgouleas-Linardatos
teaching art courses in the elementary and high school.
From 2006 he has been the director of the International
Internship Program of Yale University in Athens, and
since 2007 he has been teaching art at the educational
programs of the Museum of Cycladic Art. In 1998, he
founded the ARTSPACE Gallery in Athens, Greece, and
since 2001 he has been elected among the fifteen members
of the Director’s Committee of the Scholars Association
of the “ALEXANDER S. ONASSIS” Foundation in the position
of the Supplementary Treasurer. He has received international
awards and has shown his art in individual and group
shows in Greece and the U.S.
